Dear Friend,
I want to tell you about some mass movements that changed the world. But not the movements themselves——the books that sparked them. I want to tell you about these movements so you can understand the power that books have. And why you as an independent creator, thinker, entrepreneur must embrace the call of analog publishing if you want your movement to have any legs.
A novel called "Uncle Tom's Cabin" lands on people's doorsteps in 1852. Within months, it sells 300,000 copies. Abraham Lincoln later tells its author, "So you're the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war."
One Book. The Civil War!
Or how about "Common Sense" by Thomas Paine? A simple 47-page pamphlet that sold 500,000 copies. To put that in perspective——that would be like selling 47 million copies today. One book sparked the American Revolution.
"The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair? Created the FDA and revolutionized the entire food industry overnight.
"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand? Sparked a philosophical revolution that shaped modern libertarianism and influenced generations of business leaders and politicians.
"The Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx? Changed the entire course of the 20th century.
And let's talk about the heavyweights——the Bible and the Quran. Two books that have shaped the beliefs of over 4 billion people. That's more than half of the human beings alive on Earth right now.
Hell, even "Harry Potter" created an entire generation of readers!
And here's the craziest part——none of these authors had Crap-GPT. None of them spent years perfecting their "writing stack" or "digital garden" or building bubble graphs in Obsidian or anything else these tech bros are peddling these days.
They Just Wrote the Damn Books!
Books aren't just books. They're intellectual gunpowder. They're movement fuel. They're dream accelerant.
Think about it. Every single major shift in human consciousness started with someone sitting down and putting words on paper. Not with someone tweeting. Not with someone making TikToks. Not with someone asking ChatGPT to "write me something viral." With someone writing a freaking book!
And here's what most people don't understand about books:
They're not just about the words on the page. They're atomic reactors for creating true fans. People who read your book don't just understand your ideas——they live with them. They spend hours with your thoughts. They take your ideas to bed with them, to the bathroom with them, on vacation with them.
You can't get that kind of intimate mind-share from a podcast or a YouTube video. A book is the fastest way to position yourself as the authority in your field. It's the quickest path to high-ticket speaking gigs. It's the most powerful way to attract dream clients. It's the nuclear option for building a tribe of dedicated followers.
There's a reason why the word "authority" comes from the root word "author." Think about that for a second——
The very word we use to describe someone who commands respect, who leads movements, who influences change——it comes from the act of writing.
When you become an author, you don't just write a book. You claim your authority. You plant your flag in the ground and say, "This is what I stand for. This is what I know. This is what I believe."
Want to charge $10,000 for consulting? Write a book. Want to fill a $5,000 workshop? Write a book. Want to build a seven-figure business? Write a damn book.
I know because I've done it. My book about analog note-taking——a niche most people would consider microscopically small——generates over six figures per month in revenue. That's right. A book about notecards.
And here's the best part: You don't need to spend a year writing your book. You don't need to wait for inspiration to strike. And you definitely don't need to feed prompts to some AI chatbot or listen to the advice of some gen z psychopath who created an Airbnb investing course and faps around on the Obsidian subreddit.
Look, some books should be written in 300 days. Using an Antinet Zettelkasten is one of the best ways to do that. You can write insanely deep books in 300 days using an Antinet Zettelkasten. I also have another framework in which I teach people how to write a book in 30 days. This is also an effective way for getting a short, concise guide or a book out there to the world.
However, I have a crazier, faster, more insidious process for writing a book using analog tools. And that is the one that I call...
"The 3-Day Bestseller Method"
And this is the method I'll be teaching you in Issue No. 23 of The Scott Scheper Letter.
Listen: some ideas should not be built into a 300-page book. Some ideas should be crafted and concocted into a book that is maybe 64 to 100 pages. For these types of books, so many people spend way too much time laboring over all of the ideas. Therefore, there is a highly effective and very efficient method for writing a book furiously and knocking it out in three days.
Now, structure is important and the strategy is important, and I'll be delivering all of the specific details on how to do this——with diagrams of the note cards and the structure of how to do this——in Issue No. 23 of The Scott Scheper Letter.
I highly advise you pick up Issue No. 23 of The Scott Scheper Letter.
