Dear Friend,

For the past twelve years, I have lumped books into two categories.

Each category requires a completely different mindset.

There is a distinct approach you must undertake when reading each type of book.

One category of books is something I call Hard-Skill Books.

These are books that should stretch you——they should strain your mind, and——most likely——they are outside of your disciplinary field.

For instance, my disciplinary field is writing and marketing.

However, I read hard-skill books outside of this disciplinary field.

I read books on Python programming, systems thinking, biology, and so on.

I typically have no idea what the hell I'm reading when I first begin such books.

It hurts my brain——and in the beginning, I probably read two-hundred pages and still have very little comprehension of what I've read.

But I Press On!

There is a deliberate practice I undergo (which would be too long to outline in this email).

It consists of five guidelines that help me approach hard-skill books.

The one key takeaway I can give you is that you must approach hard-skill books in a very different manner from books you read for pleasure.

In Issue No. 17 of The Scott Scheper Letter I'll be going deep into this realm.

For those of you who are not subscribers of The Scott Scheper Letter, you have eighteen days left to get Issue No. 17.

You can try it for thirty days for free. All I ask is that you cover the cost of shipping and printing (which totals $9.86).

In addition to your subscription, you also get:

(1) Access to my online community, The Tribe. A private community of 300+ independent writers, creators, thinkers, and marketers.

(2) Regular calls and networking. Regular community calls for topics like Antinet Zettelkasten, writing, marketing, and more.

(3) Five Antinet Zettelkasten Gifts ($1,065 Value). Antinet Masterclass Video Course, Zettelkasten Myths & Denials eBook, and More.

(4) Monthly Hangout Call With Scott - Once a Month, Scott pours himself his favorite drink (Topo Chico sparkling water on ice). He then puts down his pen and fires up Zoom. On this call, you can hang out with Scott for an hour and talk shop about anything (Antinet Zettelkasten, writing, marketing, productivity, and more). This is a chance for the guard to come down and hang out with fellow independent writers, creators, and thinkers.

All of this for just saying "maybe" to a thirty-day trial, which costs $9.86 in shipping and printing.

Warm regards,

And always remember,
